About

Setting human beings apart from other forms of life is our commitment to the senses. A commitment that transcends the basic demands of the being and elevates it to the level of the esoteric. Food, for example, at its most mundane level is a mere vehicle for nutrition. Yet, over the ages, humankind has raised it to a form of art, if culinary can be termed thus. Experimentation with flavors, colors, texture and media has enriched our understanding of both the consumer and the consumed. It has redefined our relationship with nature has civilizations have engaged in culinary commerce and enriched each side of the trade by blending and adapting it for seasons, taste and tradition.

The same goes for visual art - actually at an even higher dimension, because it strives to attain no fulfillment of any basic desire that moves civilizations ahead. Yet, we consider art as a very important measure of maturity of a culture or a period in history. Visual arts do not merely record a retinal image - the artist imposes her opinion in the form of color, forms and texture to give the image or thought a new meaning.

This blog is our tribute to these two celebrated traits of humankind. It also represents our passion. A passion is of limited worth if it is not shared widely to serve as the spark that might kindle a thousand more passionate fires. That is how a civilization marches to the drums of time.

Thank you, dear reader, for stopping by and marching these few feet alongside us. It's our privilege to have you with us in this journey.
